The team at Xbox needed some help for the Design Lab that they just launched at E3. They needed their new controller rendered using 8 camera angles in each of the 15 colors but they also needed to be able to cut those images up so that users of the design lab could see the custom controllers they were designing. This was a great project, though there was a time when I was dreaming about highlights on triggers or tuning colors to match the actual color of the controllers. We designed a great system where I rendered the controllers without reflections or specular and then retouched those layers once and then applied them across all colors once they were corrected to the right Hue, Saturation and Brightness.
Now I need to go out and buy a new xbox system so I can design my own controller.
