The Tenderfoot Chronicles

Since moving to Washington State, one of my goals is to get out and take full advantage of the beautiful mountains and forests that we have here.  There are a lot of ways to do that but hunting is something that I have always wanted to learn to do.  So this morning I took my first walk in the woods looking for deer or more accurately some signs that they might be in the area.

I am pretty sure that I found some trails or parts of trails and I definitely found a few different sets of animal tracks.  I believe that I found at least one set of deer tracks at some point and I think i also saw tracks that belonged to some sort of cat.   I tried to take some pictures but unfortunately most of them are blurry.  Hey, I wasn’t really out there to take pictures this morning.

I am not sure what the track above is but it is small and deep and to me suggests that it might have been made by a deer or something like that.  I am doing some research to see if I can figure it out.

This is really blurry but those tracks were near the one above so….?

I also saw what might be signs of bucks rubbing their antlers against trees but I am unsure.
